CPU Temperatures are not normal

Go to solution Solved by d3sl91,

I'd start with making sure the H100i's pump is at 100%. If you have it plugged into a fan header, check the rpms of that header to see if it's running at 100%. Should be at 2100 ish RPM.

Hey Everyone,

My CPU temps as you can guess by the title are not normal. I was using my computer today and I noticed my Fans were spinning up louder than normal. I opened AI suite and noticed that my CPU was at 50 Degrees C. I was not doing anything CPU intensive. I had Google Chrome open, only 1 tab where I was watching a YouTube Video. I opened up Task Manager to see if anything was hogging the CPU. My CPU was at 10% usage so there was no load on the CPU. I took a note of the CPU and Motherboard Temperature and then went into the BIOS. The Temperatures were exactly the same, there was no difference what so ever which effectively ruled out the possibility of AI suite showing me the wrong temperatures in Windows. I then opened up my PC and using some compressed air I got rid of any dust on the Radiator and the GPU as well as cleaning out my fan filters. I turned on my computer and again the temperatures were at around 45 degrees C. I then decided to open my window to lower the room temperature, I shut the bedroom door to keep the cold air in and the warm air from the rest of my house out and then left the PC shut down for about an hour. When I came back the room was freezing to the point where in my T-Shirt i had goosebumps on my arm. I turn on the PC and go into AI Suite. To my demise the CPU temp was around 45 degrees C whereas the motherboard temperature was 7 degrees. I shut down the PC straight away and went back into the Bios to double check the Temperatures. They were exactly the same as in AI Suite. I took the side panel and felt around the edges of the heat sink and the radiator and they were cold to the touch. I only Built this PC a month ago so I did not think to change the thermal compound from the one that came pre applied. I opened up Far Cry 4 to see what would happen to the Temperatures surprisingly enough my GPU temperatures seemed higher than normal, however my CPU temperature shot up to 78 degrees C. At this point the CPU began to lower its multiplier thus down clocking it self. I highly doubt the CPU temperatures and for that matter possibly the GPU temperatures as well could be that high considering that my PC barley makes a sound when gaming and normally my GPU stays at 40-45 degrees C when gaming not 65 degrees C. I put my hand near the exhaust and it was just blowing out cold air so temperatures in the case are very low as well due to low ambient temperatures. I also checked for a BIOS update however there were no new updates available for my Motherboard. I did as a final check insure everything was properly connected and it was.

I have not tried the following things yet but plan to in the Morning:

- Take everything out the case and put it back in ensuring all connections are solid

- Replace my H100i with the Intel stock cooler to see if the temperatures are lower (if so it could be a faulty cooler i doubt it however due to higher GPU temps as well)

- If stock cooler makes no difference replace the thermal compound on the H100i

- Wipe the hard drive and re-install Windows and all drivers

Thanks in advance for your time I will try suggestions I will also update the post or thread if anything comes up. I am willing to try your suggestions so thanks in advance to all of you taking the time to post. If you need more Specific Information please let me know I will be happy to provide it. Below are two screenshots of the temp and cpu load.
