Artifacting even when downclocked? That's.....a problem.

That sounds like an RMA to me

Damn. Sucks for me cuz i can't even run integrated graphics (because i have none) :S

Try taking the card out of the slot, cleaning the card and the slot, properly reseating and do a full clean install of the drivers.

If that doesn't fix it then try underclocking even further. Otherwise I just see no other option than RMA

On it, thx.

If its new than RMA it :)

It'll take forever because i am over the 30 day return period :( Hope gigabyte support is good.

Underclock won't help even more if is going to fix the issue it will have bad impact on the performance so it's pointless.rma

It's worth a shot to temporarily stop the artifacting while he gets the RMA process started.

Ok. I tried cleaning the connector and tried it in another pci e slot, still getting the artefacting.

But why did it start now? Just when i started to play world of tanks?

Probably close to being a bit buggered when it arrived, putting it under normal load maybe screwed it over too much (This should not happen of course).

The point where a GPU starts artifacting can be random as balls. You drew the short straw I'm afraid :c

Apparently giving it more voltage helps (worked for a friend of mine). I have already given the 970 +25mV in afterburner, how much is 'safe'? (even for the worst card/s)

Since you have the same as mine I can tell you this, maxing out the voltage offset gives you 1262mV and that's completely safe

Artifacting is not dangerous per se. It's not exactly helping it achieving what it's supposed to do. Holding off for 2-3 days won't kill the card.

Good to know, so + how much mV can i add?

For me stock is 1218mV so +44mV would max out the voltage. The card's bios limits it to 1262mV so just crank up until you reach 1262mV. Recommend you use EVGA Precision X and enable Kboost (always full clock/voltage, not dynamic and no underclocking when idle) to test. You can immediately see values then turn off kboost when you're happy with the values.
