I heard that the difference is only in the cable and the clamping force.

 

How big are the differences in the clamping force?

 

On amazon, the DT 990 Pros are 100-200$!! cheaper than the premium versions?

 

Why is this the case?

It shouldn't be a big difference in the clamping force.

 

Get the pro's for sure, totally not worth spending almost twice as much for small differences.

For most of the reviews when comparing the Pro vs Premiums, they also seem to cite the clamping force as a fairly noticeable difference.

 

Anybody with any experience with the Pros and Premiums? Thanks

It should be fine, the pads are relatively squishy.

I don't know if the pads are the same as the dt 770 pads. If they are, you wont have any problems with them. I tried them with sunglasses and didn't feel any uncomfortable spots on my head due to clamping force.

 

Logan made a video about the dt 880 pro and premium. I imagine that the differences are the same on the dt 990's.

Yeah for sure, used headphones are totally fine in my experience. Matter of fact, almost all my headphones I've purchased were open boxed / used / refurb.
