980 and case included in budget? Anyway I'd recommend a similar build to that of the one in my signature below, But I'd use the extra cash for a larger SSD (256GB) and a larger HDD (2TB / 3TB). That should keep you set for your $2000 build.

I'd like to also suggest Dual GTX970s over the single GTX980, but that's up to you.

The 980 is, the case not.

I stand by my previous statement then. Asus Maximus VII Hero, i7-4790k, GTX 980 *any*, 8-16GB of Corsair Vengeance / Vengeance Pro ram, the Corsair H105, Corsair AX760 (or EVGA V2) and whatever storage options you want to go with.

I went with the Stock reference GTX980. You can pull it apart and spray paint the metal shroud black and it'd look amazing. The Green from the Geforece GTX + The Razer green is a good combination.

But the ASUS Maximus VII Hero doesnt match the colors of the h440 razer.

Waste of money.

Go with the MSI Z97 Krait if you want more colour-matching. or X99 with a 5820k and MSI X99S Sli Plus, as they both would match it more.

You could go Z97 Sabertooth and paint the armor matte black / green if you'd like.

You prefer Asus or MSI?

And 4790K or 5820K

I'm an Asus fan :P, and if you're doing gaming, i7-4790k definitely.

The 5820k is better for editing, but can't keep up with the 4790k in gaming. Faster cores > More cores.

Then we go for a 4790k ;)

What motherboard do you recommend in my colour sceme?

The Asus TUF Sabertooth z97 Mark 1?

And are the fans on that mobo optional?

Yes that board would be best, Linus used it in his black/green build for his Surround gaming buildguide a few months ago. The fans are completely optional.
