Latest graphics cards

I haven't really kept myself up to date with this stuff so, here's the thing. Lately I've been saving up for an ultimate monster. Don't know much about these new 970s and the 980s. I was thinking of a 2-way 780ti SLi a couple months back so should I still consider it? 2-Way 980 Sli, 970 Sli or 780Ti Sli?

970 SLI or 290 XFIRE 

 

Or wait for the R9 300 series to be announced in February

970 SLI is the best price/performance currently, but i would wait intill the release of the amd r9 300 series GPUs to make an educated desition

Don't worry about the price. I just want the best performance. Not going to upgrade from this for quite a while so I'm aiming for the best. I'm also trying to stay with nVidia completely this time. My prev build was a total AMD.

Theres no reason to avoid AMD as the R9 200 series is very compelling price/performance, and the R9 300 series should definitely be something to consider. 

 

You should also quote whoever you respond to so they get a notification.
