JUST USE the same moniter for both just different hdmi outputs or use a switcher

Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive.

Just get an X99 Motherboard, a 5930k, 4x R9 290x 8GB models (or 4x GTX980 8GB if ever released) and throw 3x Curved 1440p 21:9 monitors at it, add an extra 1080p monitor for a 3+1 setup  / 3 + Console.

Haha the only thanks I need would be for you to build this rig and post the results. You could spend even more on the computer (cooling loop, etc) if you just wanted to do two 1440p monitors and wait to get some 4k monitors. The inexpensive 1080p would be for console gaming - there's no need to spend a bunch on features that go unused

4k is basically twice the resolution of 1080p. So yeah ideally it would look twice as good, but there are a lot of other factors that go into it. I'm not a display expert, but color accuracy and gaming response time seem to have an inverse relationship, so you kind of have to choose one or the other. However, these g-sync displays will look great, and will be ideal with this overkill setup
