Try looking for a q6600, those used to be good back in the day

Hi guys

so I am using a old computer back form 07' as my server for a game. 

It is a asus p4ld2 revision 0.03 running windows 7

it currently has a intel pentium d 840 oc'd to 3.75ghz stable temps at 60c 100% load

I would like to upgrade my cpu to a intel core 2 quad lga 775 cpu.

Will it work?

And if it doesn't what cpu do you recommend me getting that is a upgrade.

Asus p4ld2 rev .03

Pentium D 840 3.75GHZ

gs 7600

4gb ddr2 (3.12 usable)

1tb wd black 64m cashe

Windows 7 ultimate 64bit

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB 

138 is a good number.

But will it be compatible with my motherboard? And is there a higher clocked one? As I said I would like to not replace my motherboard and it will be running windows 7 with 2 spigot servers and 1 bungeecord server for minecraft.

It will be compatible, there were higher clocked ones but they are much rarer
