Hi

I was wondering if a r9 280x could power 5760x1080 gaming on highest graphics.

My plan is to get another r9 280x in future to improve performance but until then I want to know if a single card could handle 3 screen gaming.

Probably could although you will max out your Vram, and you won't be able to run it on highest settings

You'll be able to run games on low-ish settings for now. Two cards will work pretty well at high settings 5760x1080p, but not ultra everything.

With one 280x you would not enjoy a surround 1080 setup. Sorry.

A friend of mine that switched from a 7970, which is nothing but a R9 280X, had this setup 3 1080p screens... he had to run a custom resolution to get acceptable FPS. The joke was he wanted to add another R9 280X and what can I say? I didn´t work! Crossfire with Eyefinity on R9 280X is not supported by AMD´s Catalyst. He was so mad about it, that he sent the second R9 280X back right away and sold the other one and bought a GTX970 2way SLI. Now he enjoys his triple screen setup in native resolution in high details or even maxxed out.
