help with picking out a headset

grizzlypaugh

My brother is wanting a really nice gaming headset. He has the steelseries siberia frost blue. He says he would like something that has better bass and not as sensitive mic. He also would like to get away from USB so he can have a sound card.

HyperX Cloud, very happy with my set, moved from Steelseries Siberia V2, so much more comfortable for long gaming sessions and the audio is superior imo

Fro. What I read separate headset and mic are the better combo for someone who wants better sound.

G4ME Zero or G4ME One

(You read it correctly)

It 150 ohms headset you got make sure your motherboard is capable pushing out 150+ ohms to bring out the full potential or have a ODAC

It have everything you want if you buy it

I've heard great reviews from it... The price tag is a bit iffy.

Most gaming headsets come equipped

with USB with their own DSPS and DACs and whatnot, and after most companies made that transition they won't be turning back anytime soon. You'll have to look at some higher-end headphones with good soundstage, then a separate mic, like the Antlion ModMic or a Blue Snowball or something among those lines.

There no headset in the world can beat a high quality separate mic like AT2020

but themic quality is good you can check out JayzTwoCents on the he review

It has noise canceling it bonus for using the mic though

You shouldn't buy a gaming headset my friend. You want an open-style headset so you have a huge sound stage and then buy a seperate microphone like a ModMic. This video explains that.

Basically, the majority of gaming headsets are pretty bad.
