Colleague's Win7 laptop is crashing every few hours (though it seems to be becoming more frequent).

Performed a malware scan and got 33 results. Restarted computer and it crashed again after a bit. Noticed on restart a message (white writing, black screen) saying something about hard drive not consistent.

I checked hard drive health through command and crystaldiskinfo and supposedly it's healthy.

Memtest next on the list.

All help appreciated.

I'd check overheating just in case anyway. If this problem escalates I'd consider sending it to service. If it's still on warranty ofc. They'll be able to peek inside it. Check for memory malfunctions and SSD/HDD errors, overheating and differences between running on battery and on exteral power. It may be problem with your battery or something like that.

Overheating may be an issue. From what I can gather she leaves it plugged in the entire day. Checked the HDD and memory and don't seem to be the issue. Most likely overheating like you said or something software related.
