Cheap AMD cooler?

My brother got a new soundcard, and because of this, he cannot use my modified cpu cooler on his gpu, and the stock cooler (or lack thereof) idles at 65 celcius even after new thermal paste. Anyone know of a cheap cooler for an HD 6870? It is an HIS brand card. He paid very little for it, and it just needs a decent cooler that cannot be larger than 2 slots total.

Try to find out whether or not this is the reference PCB. Then you can research what aftermarket cooler fits and try to get one off ebay. Not going to be easy tho...

I know my (dead  :() HD 6950 Directcu ii cooler fits on it. Unfortunately that cooler is a 3-slot cooler and it needs to be a 2-slot.

Uh, 65°C is fine...

 

 

Oh, that's idles not peak. What are peak temps?

peak temps are 85 degrees within a second of launching a game. This is with the horribly noisy fan running full tilt.
