Microphone Keeps Muting?

Hi, I use skype, so I talk often. But just now I have had this issue where my friends can't hear me. This is not skype's fault and I know it's my microphone so I go to my desktop, right-click, click personalize, click sound, click the recording tab, click on my internal microphone (That's what I use), click Properties, click the levels tab, and find out my microphone array is on 0 and muted. Now I thought I could fix this by just setting it back and unmuting it. But no, every 5 seconds it goes back to 0 and mutes itself but before that the numbers go down by 1 or 2. At this point I need help, I know my tech so I am not afraid of long tutorials so can someone help me? Thank you.
