if you get the money via paypal your all good. Because if you get scammed on paypal they refund your money, same goes for credit cards. so really, your safe, just sell it.

So I have my old graphics card on eBay right now. I was wondering if there was anything I needed to do to protect myself from would-be scammers. Like taking down the serial number or anything like that..

How much?

A 780ti i personally would save it and build another rig with it cause thats still a high end gpu.

Here is an idea for you if you have a little cash to throw around a friend of mine does with his old high end components is build a new system around that gpu and then put it on craigslist/ebay for a really nice profit. Since you have the MOST expensive piece when it comes to building a pc you could potentially just match it with a good unlocked i3 or AMD chip and easily sell it for a good profit on ebay or craigslist.

Who knows if you can make good enough profit on it and can get your name out there it might be a way for you to make some cash on the side and make a small side business out of it. Thats what I plan to do once I move is start trying to build and sell pc's or just build them for people and they buy the components for people who dont want to pay a premium for pre-built units from retailers.

I might do that with one of my 970's when I upgrade to see how it goes. I usually sell my stuff when something new comes out to keep up with times. Costs more in the long run but keeps me from having to drop wads of cash after not upgrading for years

Ah i see hopefully youll get a nice profit on that card then because 780ti's used dont normally sell any lower than $400 on craigslist and i know ebay they take around 5% of whatever you make.

One thing i will tell ya before you do what i mentioned do a little research and make sure there isnt an over abundance of custom pc shops around that could potentially throw a wrench in your plans. I personally am moving to Pigeon Forge Tennessee and there arent any custom shops around which is why i think i could possibly make it into a hobby/small business. How i see if im just building them for others using their components if i can make an extra $400 in a month on the side its worth it.
