pc freezes

when i start the pc for the fist time of the day  and lunch a game like bf4 or far cry tha computer freeze completle and stay on the same image need to restart it when i restart it and lunch the game for the second time it play whell and do not freeze what can be that ?

gpu is the 780 lightning and is stock  and i can play for hours is only the first time i start the pc

Did you clean installed the game or you just moved from old hard drive or somewhere else?And is there any details?...

bf4 was form hard drive but farcry was from cd installing the wierd thing is that i can star the computer watch movies videos look the internet and nothing i start a game and gets freeze and when i restart it and put the game again play like nothing happen i think im going to wiper everything and intall the windows fresh

I have the exact same issue. Reinstalling the system didn't help in my case. Let me know if you have any more luck with that.

So far I confirmed it's not the temperature that's the problem. The CPU runs at low fifties and GPU at around 70 tops. I even tried 

increasing fan speed so that temperature is even lower but it didn't help.

Just as in benyo89's case it happens only during the game, and only once. After restarting everything works fine until I turn off the computer

or set it to sleep mode. It never freezes during doing anything else than playing. Also it seems that it happens in any game.

 

My configuration:

CPU: 5820K

GPU: Gigabyte GTX980 G1

Motherboard: MSI X99s Gaming 7

PSU: EVGA Supernova 850W

Cooler: Corsair H100i

 

I have no idea what to try next, but this issue is very annoying. If anyone knows anything about it, please let me know.

 

Btw. I tried running memtest and it didn't find any errors.

Im thinking about the ram or board if my restart dosnt work im goin to try other ram

I tried running a game on linux and I get the same result. That means it has to be hardware issue. I was hoping it would be drivers or something, but no. 

Let me know how it goes with different ram.

it was the board i change the board and stop doing that i dont know if that the same with you but for me starting to work grate after i change the board
