CPU Temps FX8320

Hey guys. Just built a computer using an FX8320. It's idling at around 40 degrees celcius. I've been reading about people getting it to idle at around 30. I have a cooler master hyper 212 evo. I'm thinking that I may not have applied the thermal paste very well. Are these temps something to be concerned about?

Sounds like my Intel stock cooler temp. What's your temp on full load?

Well I literally just put it together so I haven't had the chance to play any games or do much of anything on it. haha

I think as long as full load temps aren't too high, you're good. Could be worse. I've heard of instances of 50 C idle!

Wow! haha those are some high temperatures! What a dangerous temp that I should look out for under heavy load?

You can run prime95, it will heat up your CPU fast. Also note that the thermals reported on the recent FX CPU's arent entirely accurate, so it could be just fine.

my 970 motherboard only lets me set the target temp to 40°C but the fan is only barely turning and then its stays at 40 the whole time with the fan ramping up (i have a FX 6300 OCd to FX 6350 specs and slowly pushing up with a 212 EVO)

I have a fx-6300 and a Hyper 212X (just a slight better fan than evo) and my temps at idle are at 26C

I have an ambient temp of 30-32C here since i live in the PH. O_O and my temps during prime95 are 63C never exceeded 65+ as for gaming i max at 53C 

Am I having "false" reports about my temps? I use HWmonitor and MSI afterburner

probably not when i wasn't overclocking and let the cpu underclock when not in use it idled about 3° above room temp mine just idles warm cause im still testing it sorta (forcing it to run at a constant speed)

FX 8320 stock, Xigmatek Dark night 2, 15 C or so ambient temperature= 19C idle, 39 at full load, with 12 (or 14?) fan on the heatsink, and one more on top, no back exhaust fan

so your cpu idle temp is lower then your ambient?

impossible, with normal aircooling

i dont believe that

i take some screens of it, but bear in mind, the ambient temp at my legs should be around 15 C

I use CoreTemp, and I am not sure how accurate the temp reading is

check the socket temp, thats more accurate.
