I am in the process of trying to upgrade the motherboard and processor on my computer. I tried moving my hard drive to the new computer and it would not boot to Windows 7. I read an article about how to prepare the hard drive for the move, so I put it back into my old computer to boot it and make the necessary changes. But now it won't boot on my old system either. I've tried running the Windows 7 disc to repair the system but it will not repair it. The only info I'm getting is an error message relates to the windows/system32/winloadexe file. It says "the selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or corrupt". Can anyone offer any advice?

Does that mean I will lose all my programs?

Nope, as long as you make sure to use the option that allows you to do so when installing that is. Make sure you have your Windows 7 product key written down before installing.

EDIT: Sorry if I suck at explaining it. D:

You can use the old windows disk just remember to reactivate windows and call MS up to remove the license to the old MB, you'll figure it out.

Also will it work with an OEM?

Yes and no. If you have branded OEM that was installed on PC when you bought it, you have 50-50 chance that it won't work. Otherwise you should just go for it anyway. You have 30 days to get it working before trial runs out. DON'T insert CD key during installation. You can use it at any point after that anyway.

As for software, those are lost. But you can select to save your personal files.
