The 6 takes pretty good pictures from what I've seen from my mom's phone.

from what i heard, the camera on the 6 and 6 plus are pretty decent.

Yeah, usually still images have much higher resolution than videos. 4K resolution is about 8mp and most Android smartphones have cameras greater than 8mp, which will mean it can capture stills at greater than 4K, but as most people know, megapixels aren't the be all, end all for camera quality. But imo, 4k video captures are really gimmicky, the only advantages are the higher bitrate so if you downsample it to 1080p, then you'll have a really good video, but left in 4k, it's rather lackluster.
