-snip-

I've posted a topic about this, however, with the T3i. No one was able to provide a response.

So after taking it upon myself to research it and everything; I'll tell you, it is possible, however there are un-removable grid-lines, and that it's bad on your camera's sensor if you do it for more than ~2-3 hours.

If you would still like to, then refer to this video, and download/install the Canon EOS Utility software. You will also need a third-party webcam software to be able to pick up the camera/EOS Utility software as a camera.

He could lack an actual webcam, or simply be seeking better quality, as I was.

I really wish that we'd just make organic hardware already, that grows and adapts to the demands it needs to meet. That way, grannies' computers can be floppy sacks of organicness and the 12 year old Minecrafters will look like the guys that only do bicep curls, and the nerdy programmers will finally have justice, with their body-builder rigs that skipped leg day.

Well if it bad for the sensor then I might pony up and buy something like the Logitech C920

I use the C525, got mine for $35 and am very happy with it. Amazon has it for $25 right now.

If you'd like the C920, I'd recommend waiting until Monday, as I suspect it'll go on sale again. I've seen it drop as low as $35.
