computer cuts out at startup

i have just built a pc. i am using the fractal design 1100 case. when i turn the compter on it cuts out sometimes. i looked into the problem and found out that it seems to be the powerbutton causing the computer to turn off. as when i turn the computer on with a metal object accross both pins it doesnt randomly turn off. anyone know why this is happening with the power button
