So this is my current motherboard: http://www.pbtech.co.nz/index.php?z=p&p=MBDGBM2842&name=Gigabyte-GA-Z87X-D3H-Socket-1150-Intel-Z87-Chipset

and this is the one i am going to replace it with: http://www.pbtech.co.nz/index.php?z=p&p=MBDGBM2930&name=Gigabyte-Z97X-Gaming-GT-for-Intel-Socket-1150Intel

reason for the switch: to remove my current bottleneck of my SLIed gtx770 sc graphic cards

my question for you is, is this a good switch or is it not my motherboard that is causing my games not to run as good as they should (getting about the same of the benchmarks of the 770 sc by its self(and yes sli is enabled and is currently set for maximum 3D performance))

PCIe lanes dont impact performance that much, so it's probably something else

Correct, your motherboard is fine for SLI. There is something wrong with your settings/GPU Or PCIE lanes
