I am currently using the 7970 ghz but I am not sure if i should sell the 7970 ghz and get a different card or should I buy a 280x to crossfire? Budget of around $250. I will to start recording some BF4 videos in 1080p in 60fps.

I've got an R9 260X, and I just know I'm going to have to upgrade in a year or so (after I've got around to playing all the game I like and can run with the card). This is a question I've been wanting to ask, too. Do I upgrade to an R9 [something] or do I just get another 260X and SLI? (Yes, I have all the support for it).

Yes the 7970 ghz will crossfire with the 280x without a problem but I aren't amd notorious for having crossfire issues in game?

every time I cross-fired or sli-ed it was never worth it. wait until next year and buy a NEW card ( DX12 ) from your side of choice. it'll probably be faster or close to it as xfire would be ( without the associated problems ), run cooler and cost about the same or less as you paid for your 7970. ( i use the 270x as reference. i paid 270 U.S. for a 6950 2gig card and got twice the performance for 200 dollars running a 270x ).

and I have to edit.......... get 3 or 4gigs of vram on your next card. you'll probably end up keeping your next card for a lot of years ( games are getting hungry ) and somewhere along the lines you will upgrade your monitor ( again, needing more vram ) ( high res )

If two processors have the same graphics processor (whether anything else be different- size, name, brand, whatever), they can be crossfired/SLId.

Here's one of Linus' old videos, and I mean old old.
