I installed mint through the inataller onto the asd with the option to erase the drive. I assume it wrased the drive and didnt lie.

Sorry, i'm not sure if Mint installer have to option to "Install Bootloader here" if you're installing from a clean drive. Some of the *Buntu distro have that.

So what is the problem now? If you don't want to reinstall, you can use the liveboot feature and install GRUB from there.

The problem is still the same i cannot get into mint. I have installed it on my ssd but it failes to boot. I can get into the cd grub me u but that is pointless. Itis likethere is no os on my ssd and i do not understand whay that is. Also how do you install grub from the live cd.

Alternatively is it because my ssd is not formated properly to msdod because i had windows on it previously.

I gave up. Looks like the windows gods want me to stay. I tried some other things also but to no availe. It may be a problem with mint itself as there seems to be a lot of problems running mint for other people also. Oh well back to un activated w7 on my 2011 3 rig for me.
