Gpu upgrading help

Hi, I want to upgrade my gpu as it's rather slow and struggles to run most recent games at my screen's native resolution (1680x1050), but I need some help deciding what gpu to get.

I've been running this for a while now and I really need to upgrade. Here are my pc's specs:

 

Intel core i5 3470 clocked @ 3.2GHz,

8 gigs of ddr3 memory,

Asus P8Z77-V LX motherboard,

and the (terrible) gpu is an amd radeon hd 6670.

 

Can I get some suggestions on what to gpu upgrade to as I am useless at this stuff. The price needs to be preferably between £100 and £200 (roughly $160-315 for Americans), however I'm more than happy to pay more if it will make a big enough difference to performance.

If you are willing to save 60 bucks more you could get a 970, if not I think the 280x/290 is in your budget. Have to check Amazon UK .

the first one will be perfect for you're set up

 

the second if you need a little more power later on

the third is just beast and will last you a good while =)

This looks pretty good.

780Ti can run most things quite well, assuming you're only doing 1080p.

Do you have any ideas which brand to go for with aftermarket cooling though?

Noctua nh-d14 or d15 quiet and just as good as most if not all closed loop water coolers like h100i and x60

Oh your talking GPU lol I'd say saphire tri-x or winforce witchever is cheaper for the r9 290

the tri X is your best for the r9 290 but thats another £90 on your budget
