I've wanted to build a PC for a while and finally have the money to do it this year. I have a budget of $1500 and figured Ide stretch it a lil by buying as much as possible on cyber Monday. I'm thinking a quad core gaming rig but am admittedly intimidated by parts choices, comparability and balancing. Any help or parts suggestions would be much appreciated.

Hey @heavymetalcelt,

I have put together a build here for you for a maximum performance gaming rig.

The i5 CPU is a good choice for gaming as this one is overclockable and will yield very good performance in games.

The Motherboard is overclock ready and supports duel SLI as well as CrossFire and RAID.

The EVO cooler will give you good cooling for medium overclocking and is way better and quieter than the stock one.

The RAM I got you is 2400 MegaHertz for the best speed and the motherboard can handle those speeds.

A WD Red drive is a reliable storage device and Samsung SSD give you great boot speeds and load speeds on games.

The duel MSI cards will yield AMAZING performance in all games today and should do everything you want at a good FPS on ultra settings.

The case is a personal choise but i really think this case looks good and is spacious, but of course you can change it if you don't like it.

And the power supply leaves space for further upgrades.

I hope this helps, please reply if it does.

Retal CPU?

OEM version only has the cpu.

Retail version has the cpu and the stock Intel heatsink/fan

The retail version also used to carry a longer warranty of 3 years. I am not sure if it is still the case.
