Overclocking Help

Go to solution Solved by LogicalDrm,

@Chiragdmodi

You have 4770K. Deal with the thing that most likely aren't going to get it up to 4.8GHz. Most of those chips are in range of 4.3-4.4GHz. You need really good luck or really impressive cooling or both to get anywhere near those numbers.

This is general guide for Gigabyte mobos. Its for older chipset but works for Z87 boards as well.

As and off topic notice, you need to edit your sig to follow CoC. It has to be max 3 lines long. If you wan't to list whole system, use spoiler tags.

I have Following Component and i need help to overclock my rig to around 4.8 Ghz

Intel Core i7-4770K Processor

Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD3H Z87

Patriot Viper Xtreme 8GB DDR3 x2

XFX Radeon R9 290 Double Dissipation Edition

Thermaltake Toughpower Grand 850 Watt Power Supply

although i tune using gigabyte tune utility to 4.5 Ghz

and the bios for gigabyte is quite different than asus. If some can post video of step by step i will appreciate. Because i tried to do it from bios and it was getting stuck at gigabyte screen.

and When i try to play COD Modern warfare on everything maxed and everting on. My computer was seems to be little laggy and slow and  i was getting blue screen error.

Please Help

if your OCing in the bios ( which you always should) turn off all your OC software first, and its not guaranteed you'll get 4.8

...and because you're new we are starting with the basics... turn off all your software OC "although i tune using gigabyte tune utility to 4.5 Ghz" - turn this off so you're back to stock speeds.. then we'll go through the bios

but really read up on on it before you start doing ANYTHING ,  - is this your UEFI ??
