quick poweline solution

Guest

So I've moved house and my Internet's being installed today, but its occurred to me I have no way of my PC connecting without running an Ethernet upstairs, which isn't particularly ideal. I was hoping to have your opinions on this power line:

So Argos is the closest store to sell anything like this, and I'm not waiting a couple more days to recieve one from Amazon. So is this sufficient for online gaming, YouTube, Netflix etc?

Cheers

it really depends on the wiring in your house, the quality and type of wiring and if the two outlets are actually wired together, i find that powerline is pretty much a shot in the dark. what i would do is just run ethernet through the walls.

Like bonehead said, powerline isnt always the most reliable way of providing ethernet.

The best way would be running cables trough the house, but it's time consuming.

I don't know what distance is between your pc and the router, but i'd vote for connecting your pc via wifi via a dongle or such.

When your wifi is well within range, it's fine for gaming and video.
