Is mys system overclocking ready

I watched the overclocking guide for X99 (great one linus!). i have the same CPU and Motherboard that he used.HOWEVER, he said that watercooling is required for overclocking a six core i7. I have a Noctua NH-D14. Is this enough for overclocking and how much of an overclock can i expect?

Current Rig:   CPU: AMD 1950X @4Ghz. Cooler: Enermax Liqtech TR4 360. Motherboard:Asus Zenith Extreme. RAM: 8GB Crucial DDR4 3666. GPU: Reference GTX 970  SSD: 250GB Samsung 970 EVO.  HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 2TB. Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro. PSU: Corsair RM1000X. OS: Windows 10 Pro UEFI mode  (installed on SSD)

Peripherals:  Display: Acer XB272 1080p 240Hz G Sync Keyboard: Corsair K95 RGB Brown Mouse: Logitech G502 RGB Headhet: Roccat XTD 5.1 analogue

Daily Devices:Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact and 128GB iPad Pro

NH-D14 matches many AIO's and defeats a lot as well. The NH-D14 is more than competent enough

Lol, you can expect up to 5*C higher. No biggie, go ahead and overclock.

so can i follow the exact same procedure with smashing it onto 4.5ghz and 1.3V volts at the beginning like linus?

You should follow the same procedure, but don't expect the same results.  Overclocking is a lottery, you don't always win.

A lottery that can sometimes be super pricey.. My HD7770 can't pass 1090Mhz on the core and my VRAM can't pass stock... :/
