Get a 4690k and a Z97 board if its not substnatially more,

Don't get a reference 290, get a Tri-X (or Vapor-X)

Get a Crucial MX100, Adata Sp900, or Samsung 840 Evo instead of the Kingston V300.

Get an EVGA G2 750w psu

For cable extensions: Bitfenix Alchemy or Silverstone PP07

But yay blue:

Do NOT get the Kingston V300. It's literally the biggest piece of garbage on the planet.

170/80 read/write respectively compared to 500/300-500 for $5-15 more.

RIP in pepperonis m8s

Pictures, coming up after the break.

Agreed, DO NOT get the ref. card of the R9 290, they are horribly loud. Go for a wind-force, tri-x, etc.

well, I already have all the parts, and this are the price I got them all...   the SSD is a salvage from my old system.

Pictures:

Here you will see the mess before the awsomeness and temporal build over a box testing all the components.

Also the h110 tubes were too short and didnt reach the CPU socket from the PSU chamber..... so I replace the tubing with this not so slick but BLUEish tubes.... IMO I nail it with the color.

Over the weekend I will hopefully paint the GPU, Fans and other stuff I may think of.

And yeah, the 290 is Super loud and runs HOT like the devils ass.

But my plan is to get a antec kohler 620 or a h55 + a kraken and water cool it too! (Or wait until corsair GPU cooler hits the market and get one of those.)

Also, I will use the 1TB black to install games on... the 3 TB green (this is a salvage too, just 3 month old) is to mass storage, tv shows, movies and whatnot.

About the ssd, since is a salvage i am good, but will update on my next move... together with the mobo and cpu! (so this is not happening now)

  • 4 weeks later...

Things to do:

- Dont like the result of painting with plastidip.... want to do the paint job with permanent paint.

- Want to add some custom sleeve cables black/blue (any idea where to buy them?)

- The 290 is really loud... want to add a G10+ 120MM AIO. (Already order it...)

- The side windows is plastic and I dont like it, want to swap it with a real glass window.. (just an idea for now.)

Looking around,

bla bla bla this, meh that!
