Modern Warefare 2 doesn't have server lists. It's a P2P game so unless you find a lobby of people still playing you would need to create a private games or know a bunch of people who what to play.

yes a lobby but it says its strict

I didn't know what to put here...

You need to setup port forwarding on your router. CoD usually uses port 3074. You need to add this port to your router list. Look up your router name with port forwarding and you should be able to figure it out. Sometimes it will ask for the range of ports. You can just set Global Range from 3074 to 3074. This should do the trick.

Looking further into it, I am not sure if MW2 uses port 3074. Have a look around to see. I found this site that says the ports to try anyway.

http://portforward.com/cports.htm

You should also get a choice to set up a TCP connection or a UDP connection. You want to select UDP. (main difference is TCP is more reliable but only for non real-time applications. Multiplayer is real-time so don't use TCP)

Rig: i7 2600K @ 4.2GHz, Larkooler Watercooling System, MSI Z68a-gd80-G3, 8GB G.Skill Sniper 1600MHz CL9, Gigabyte GTX 670 Windforce 3x 2GB OC, Samsung 840 250GB, 1TB WD Caviar Blue, Auzentech X-FI Forte 7.1, XFX PRO650W, Silverstone RV02 Monitors: Asus PB278Q, LG W2243S-PF (Gaming / overclocked to 74Hz) Peripherals: Logitech G9x Laser, QPad MK-50, AudioTechnica ATH AD700

These are the ones

1500

Try the all. Look for different websites that may give different ports. Be reasonably cautious about which sites you choose though.

A lot of people are saying 28960.

Keep trying. Look for different guides and ones for your exact router. Also check your windows firewall to make sure that MP is enabled in there. I think Upnp is meant to do that but just double check it.

Don't edit the same ports over and over. If you set one rule up to forward on port 28960 then set another rule to try port 1500. (not sure if you are doing this but I will just say it anyway). Port 28960 seems to be what everyone is saying so at least leave that port forwarded.

@NicekillBG ^^

forgot to quote

Also once you have done all that, if it still doesn't work, try restarting your PC and router just to double check.

Not worth the hassle mate. No matter what internet you have (I have 72 Down and 21 Up) you still get horrible lag. Granted. Before I bought it for the PC, the last time I had played it was on console when the game was still popular, but, every game is either a hacked lobby, hackers IN the lobby or terrible connection. If you do find a clean lobby, you tend to loose connection. Although you can have fun, most of if is you being TP'd to the top of the mad and headshot by an RPD.
