C++ Book

I been putting learning c++ off for awhile but since i want to go to college for programming guess i should start now 

 

What is the best book out there for learning c++ ?

Why do you want to learn C++? Is that what the college you are wanting to go to uses?

 

Everybody has an opinion on what language you should learn first. I think you should learn what you know you'll be using in college. A head start will make college a lot easier.

When I was learning some C++ back a few years ago in school, the class textbook for it was Accelerated C++: Practical Programming by Example

 

I can't say it's the best book out there as I haven't read any other C++ books, but it is interesting and I like it.

It will not teach you how to program but is by far the greatest resource you will ever have.
