I'm thinking about an upgrade and I need some help.

My current build that i bought 2 years ago :

  • Windows 8.1 Professional
  • GIGABYTE Radeon HD 7870 2GB
  • Crucial DDR3 8GB 1600MHz Ballistix Sport CL9
  • OCZ ZT Series 550W Modular
  • Intel Core i5 2500K @ 3.3 GHz (although I it's stable'ish on 4.5) (Also there is Thermalright HR-02 on it)
  • Seagate Barracuda 1TB
  • Samsung Evo 840 256GB
  • Asrock P67 PRO3 (B3) Intel P67 LGA1155
  • Case is Zalman Z9 Plus

I'm using 16:9 1080p + 4:3 1024p monitors.

Recently I started getting 50ish fps in games which pisses me off :D so I think it's time for an upgrade. After my "research" I think the best way to kick this build back into the game is to buy GTX 970 but first please tell me what do you think.

PS: I noticed that i usually have over 4GB RAM filled on desktop so should I download buy more RAM ?

If you recommend 970 please look at this site and pick the cheapest one that would be most viable :)

RAM should be enough for any game. 970 is a good upgrade.

Nothing wrong with Gigabyte as far as I know. Unless it doesn't fit your case.
