Rig build question

I'm thinking on building a new gaming rig. It's been a long time since I've build my last pc and i have been reading on new tec for a few wreaks now. Since my first ever pc was amd I wanted to build all amd build. but the more I'm digging out seems that Intel has better cpu for gaming. I wanted to build a 8350 8core amd cpu with r9 290x gpu maybe crossfire should i consider throwing out amd cpu for an Intel one or should i stick with amd for a high end gaming rig. As for budget i am willing to some but not insane 1500 € for the case is what i am willing to spend.

For 1500 euros, you can get a GTX970 + i5-4690k that'll perform a lot better for gaming.

I doubt a 970 will over perform two 290x radeons. Plus i want an amd based since my first ever pc was amd. I know thats a stupid way to buy a pc but thats the way i am i just want to know will it make that much of a difference of i swap to Intel cpu

Go for two 290x and i5 4690K
