Computer won't recognize playback devices

Hey guys! My grandmother's computer won't recognize any playback devices at all.  I am thinking it's a driver issue but I really have no clue which one to try out.  I looked and there is already a realtek driver on the computer.  Help is greatly appreciated! Also if you think it's a driver issue links would be greatly appreciated
