My friend decided to switch to PC gaming (amen, am I right :D). He asked me to build a PC for him.

So, here I am, asking for your advice.

Budget:                1600USD = 1300EUR

Aim:                      Gaming. That's it, nothing else. Have in mind he's not really a tech guy, so having a mobo full of small features or some cool looking RAM sticks is not his thing, altho some esthetics would be nice.

Peripherals:         None. He already has everything he needs, exept the actual computer of course :D

Use PC PartPicker if you can. Hope I didn't forget anything...

OS not required.

Thanks

I like the SLI. Also, I guess the case comes with some fans, right?

Also, do you recommend overclocking the CPU?

Yeah, doesnt have to be a wild overclock, just get to like 4ghz at least

Edit: the case comes with fans but you can get some more, i reccomend Corsair AF fans

Pa super onda :D

Here's the site I always shop from. They are great and have awsome customer support. Prices are in HRK so just covert them to your currency.  http://www.futura-it.hr/naslovna/

About the OC, you sure the PSU can handle it?

Nice red and black theme in this one. I would definitely go with SLI 970's over a single 980. Also, the CPU can be overclocked a fair amount with that h60 and 760w PLATINUM( ) psu.

EDIT: Added the wrong GPU, still the same price though.

Not much choice on Germany pcpartpicker.

The R9 290 is just a placeholder although it is still a very good gpu. Have a look for a GTX 970 if you prefer Nvidia.

The 750W psu would allow GTX 970 SLI. You would probably need 850W for R9 290 Crossfire.

I made this :)

I'll be blunt... Because of the massive price difference here, you can't get the same for converted 1600$ in USA and in this part of the world...

I made this: http://prntscr.com/56riv8

I'd rather get a single GTX 970 with a SLI capable Mobo and a VERY good PSU so i could add another one later :)

(I'm so jelly that you guys get Corsair PSU's...)

No problem :D I'm also looking to make a PC for myself with a similar budget, so i think of this as preparing for that :)

What do you think:

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($229.94 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: ASRock Z97 EXTREME4 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($123.79 @ Newegg)
Storage: Intel 530 Series 180GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($109.99 @ Amazon)
Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 290 4GB TWIN FROZR Video Card  ($286.53 @ Amazon)
Case: NZXT H440 (Blue/Black) ATX Mid Tower Case  ($129.99 @ NCIX US)
Total: $1161.15

Notes:
I choose this motherboard because it's blue.
I need some opinion about the PSU and SSD, PSU is overkill cuz' I might trow in another GPU.
The gpu is r9 290 because my friend wants AMD GPU. This is going to be his PC.

Also, what CPU cooler do you suggest for OCing?

Very nice, and i'm guessing it's withing your HRK budget O.o

I'd only change:

- That case is beautiful, but it's also expensive :( Look at Thermaltake Urban series (which i personally quite like), save some money and get a little better PSU :D

- You don't need WD Black HDD, get something cheaper :)

SSD, as far as i know, is quite good :)

PSU, could be better, and that is in no way overkill! 750W is recommended for a single 290, and 850 for CF, so look at some 850W PSU's :D

Nice, I'll probably get something like this:    http://www.centro.hr/detalji_proizvoda.164d81cfc3864e558293d9be6571dfa9.kuciste-thermaltake-urban-r31.aspx

And a better PSU....

What about compatibility? Will everything work good?
