So im looking for an alternative to windows movie maker(crapper). Like something Sub $19.99 or free?

You can get a subscription to after effects/premiere if you're mad enough

Oops, sorry didn't realise that it was that much, I thought I read somewhere that it was £14/month :/

After a quick search, most results turn to Sony (Vegas) Movie Studio Platinum and Pinnacle Studio software. Both are pretty cheap on Amazon. Sony's software is less than $50 and gets cheaper depending on which version you buy. The other is somewhere around $100. Adobe Premiere Elements is mentioned on a few sites as well, also $100~, but I've got no idea if it's worth buying.

I've not used any video editing software so I couldn't say if any of these are good. I urge you to read or watch a handful of reviews, maybe see it in use on Youtube, and see if any of these are right for you.

Lightworks was also there, not sure how expensive, but I don't know about that at all :P. At least I've heard of the first 2.

Edit: I lied, I used an early version of WMM once. Garbage.
