New build - help installing Win7

Go to solution Solved by MeltingPoint,

After a few days of pure frustration, I finally got it to install properly.

I downloaded an original ISO copy from digitalrivercontent.net and used Rufus to create a UEFI bootable installer. And yes, I was able to create an x64 installer on an x86 machine.

I finally got all the parts for my new build. See specs in my sig.

I went ahead and create a Windows 7 x64 bootable USB stick on my old system. I then plugged it into the new computer and started the installation process then I got an error saying some files are missing or corrupt (0x80070570)

I tried downloading a new ISO an also tried a different usb stick but i cant still fix it. And what's worse, my old system, which for a few months now is acting up, refuses to power up.

What am I missing here? What about this UEFI thing and the clean install?

I'm at a loss right now. All I have is just my phone and a bootable win 7 installer usb stick. Surely I am screwing up or missing something somewhere. I need help.

Maybe your installer itself is corrupt. And what do you mean your old system not powering up? Like after you made the iso file, it suddenly wont power up?

I've tried different ISO files and it still wont work and regarding the old PC, it would have fits of not power up for a long time now. Sometimes its okay sometimes it wont power up. Its just a coincidence that after making several bootable flash drives that it decided it act up again

 I need help.

I had this problem once, luckily mine was a simple fix. Follow these steps and hopefully it will install:

  1. Install from the "Install now" page like you normally would.
  2. Once you get the error, press the cancel button.
  3. Without rebooting, repeat step 1. (It should fully install after this.)

Also make sure you disable secure boot and enable legacy booting, since Win7 doesn't support UEFI's.

Is your other OS that you created the USB Flash Drive installer on 64 bit Windows too?

You need to create a 64 bit Windows 7 USB Flash Drive on a 64 bit version of Windows 7. The bootloader that you copy over to the Flash Drive is specific to the 32 bit and 64 bit operating systems.

Just to make it clear. You can't create a 64 bit Windows Installer USB on a 32 bit version of Windows.

Have you tried simply clicking the cancel button, and retrying install without reboot??

I did create it on a 32 bit system but i downloaded bootsect.exe which microsoft tells me to do when creting such bootabledrive

The flash drive needs to be made on a 64 bit version of Windows 7 or it simply will not work.
