So I'm looking at this really great priced i7:

In the product description, it says it supports 1333 and 1600 memory. Does that matter, or can I still get 1866 or higher?

it is somthing put by intel so that when your 2666memeory doesnt work they can say it is out of spec intel engineers even call it bs you are fine up to 3000 mhz

Please follow your topics guys, it's very important! CoC F.A.Q  Please use the corresponding PC part picker link for your country USA, UK, Canada, AustraliaSpain, Italy, New Zealand and Germany

You are probably fine up to something like 2666 at least. You overclock makes your memory less stable but intel likes to say their memory support is much slower than it actually is. Annnnd depending on what your doing...say gaming you won't even need high speed memory whatsoever.

It's a 4770k so...don't worry about any memory "limitations" just get it

Also, with memory the CAS latency is important as well. 1600mhz ram can be faster than 1866mhz ram depending upon the cas latency.

I'm not positive, but I think you're limited by the motherboard you select, not the processor.  Again, I could be wrong.  I think it has to do with what Intel validates.  Just because they don't validate something, doesn't mean it won't work.  For instance, I am running 1.65v RAM @ 2400Mhz on my i5-4670k.  Intel only validates 1.5v RAM, but it works just fine.  My Motherboard is able to handle RAM up to 3000Mhz.
