Surface type cover 2? confusion

Hi so I just got a Surface Type Cover 2 for my first generation surface that I have had for a year now(I know first) the box states surface type cover 2 but I look at pictures and the Shift keys and Backspace keys are longer where as the ones on mine are compact shortened ones.
