Amd 8350 Cpu hotter than cores

Jizburg

I saw a strange thing today in my computer. the CPU is hotter than its cores.

i am running Aida 64 extreme edition and when i look at the sensors it is saying that my cores are 39*c and the CPU is 49-55*C
this is a big diference in temperature on sutch a litle chip. anyone have any idea?

maybe some funky sensors (quite common actually ) i won't be too concerned

(1) high frame rate (2) ultra graphics settings (3) cheap...>> choose only two<<...

if it's never been done then i'm probably tryna do it. (((((((Bass so low it HERTZ)))))))

ok then. but what sensor should i "trust" the 8 core sensors  that says 39 or the "CPU" that says 49-55?

Just some weird sensor readings. Don't worry about it. You want to worry about the cores the most anyhow.

The core sensors. What does CoreTemp say?

I have seen this type of  "scratch my head and wonder"  sensor

responses on my FX 8120..to the point that the cores are below ambient temperatures... :P

What I do know is the thermal limits are based on the core temp..

Core temp are 39*C on all cores.

and you are shure you do not have some liquid nitrogen stuck in the chip ;P?

I meant the CoreTemp application.

It's a separate program. Can be found here.

Yes..CoreTemp is a software program that will read the CPU sensors  :  http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/

use the More downloads button..and choose your flavor..

installing now. got a wierd pirate game with it.. gonna try coretemp now.

Cpu# 0 33*C
Min 33*C Max 43*C

and at the moment Aida 64 is saying Cpu is 45*c and cores are 33*c

Based on this information, I would trust the core temp in AIDA64.

I agree. Do you stick with one tool, or use a few and compare the differences ?
