2560 Bit

Am i right thinking that the Playstation 2 was the only hardware with the 2560 bit bus width?

 

I know it means nothing as obviously the PS2 is well.... limited to say the least, but it's astonishing seeing such a huge bus on such a console.

 

Back in those days, consoles were actually rivaling PC's for the first year at least.

such a bus width would require a decent memory controller to say the least, not to mention much smaller memory chips. just imagine a graphic card with 80 memory chips on it...  :wacko:

The CPU had a 128 bit memory bus, and did calcs in 128 bit as well.

Hhmmm... I dont understand what you guys are talking about but to be honest, PS2 is my very best console experience and i think some people will agree with me.

But i heard rumour that back then, rusian used PS2 processor for their missiles. Is that true?

mine too. but i had it repaired a year ago and i gave it to my nephew hahaha.. since i don't use that any longer
