Broken laptop

I am helping a friend with a broken laptop the laptop is a probook 4436s the laptop will turn on but shuts down after half a second, I tried taking out the batter and holding the power button for 30 seconds but it still wont stay open for more than 1/2 a second the battery is at full charge. I don't have much experience with laptops so please help.

Not sure if laptops have a PSU, but the thing that regulates power internally may be gone. (not the external power block)

Also, things may be short circuiting, so try reseating everything inside the laptop.
