Hello,

This afternoon I am building my new pc, and have been planning this for a while,

I was just wondering in what ways I could install windows 7 to my new pc as it has no ROM drive,

I had thought of using a Flash Drive, External Disk Drive or putting the SSD for the OS into my old pc, installing windows onto it, then putting it into my new build.

Any ideas or tips are appreciated :)

Make a bootable USB drive using this or rufus

It might not work. Tried it before and it was giving me a BSOD upon loading the OS. Best to do a fresh install.

You can make a Windows 7 install USB drive that works exactly like the DVD without any DVD drives.

First download the correct ISO for your Windows 7 key here:

http://www.w7forums.com/threads/official-windows-7-sp1-iso-image-downloads.12325/

These are all links to Microsofts own Digital River storage and downloading them is completely legal. They will not work without a valid licence key, they will simply install a 30 day trial.

Then use Microsofts own tool or Rufus as recommended above to put the ISO onto a USB drive (which has to be 4GB or larger):

I found Rufus works best for this. If you need any more help please ask. Best of luck :)
