Did you defrag them? If you did, that is basically killing an SSD... Maybe the motherboard doesn't have a good RAID card. Also, it is a VERY bad idea to run SSDs or HDDs in RAID 0 as it is not reliable at all. Something like RAID 5 is a bit more reliable.

SSDs in Raid0 is okay if you make frequent backups. Especially because there will be less wear on each nand module when you have two drives

Check ATTO benches to verify that you have a problem. CrystalDisk uses highly compressible data for its benching.

Could be your driver, might need to disable something in the device manager settings for the SSD, etc.

True, but for those who don't really have somewhere to backup stuff like me, it isn't a good idea...

I don't think defragging makes it that slow anyway, sure it will be heavy on writes and slow it down, but garbage collection (separate from TRIM) should recover that in due time.

Maybe reinstall/update the drivers windows uses to see the raid, either from manufacturers website or otherwise.

I had the default windows drivers on for my raid0 and was getting 750 write, updated drivers and got 950 writespeeds.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

I had no option, this was how the notebook came preconfigured. I simply swapped the 1TB HDD they had provided in the SATA III bay for the Kingston Hyper-X Fury 240GB.

No I didn't drefrag them, you shouldn't ever defrag SSDs. There's no need.

Hmmm... ATTO shows different results?

rro4u9.jpg

Seems like one of those typical fake rated speeds used in marketing when via compressible and non-compressible data rates being completely different.

Like the Agility 3 being 550/500 in some situations but ONLY really getting 210/110 in most cases.

Meaning it is like that by manufacturer design.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Nice.

I replaced my older Agility 3 with a SS 840 Pro (then got another one after that)

You will not be disappointed :)

Windows 8/8.1 won't let you defrag SSDs at all. Even after imaging from a hard drive, it completely replaces defrag with TRIM.
