My laptop (Lenovo G500) has a broadcomm wireless n adapter built in. It works fine, except on my school's network where I can connect but get a limited signal. I've checked with the guys there and my laptop is authenticating on their end but I still can't get internet access. I've tried all the networks (student, guest, and even staff) and have attempted reinstalling the drivers but for some reason Windows rejects the newer driver even when I force the install. When I force uninstall the driver it just reinstalls itself in a matter of seconds.

I've booted into Linux and successfully connected without any difficulties. Any ideas as to what might be happening?

I've built 3 PC's, but none for myself... In fact, I'm using an iMac that my dad bought for me as my desktop. Awkward...

Please don't say "SSD drive." By doing so, you are literally saying "Solid State Drive Drive" and causing my brain cells to commit suicide. The same applies to HDD (Hard Disk Drive) and PCIe (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express).

Windows has some weird issues with drivers which is one of the reasons I can't stand using it (except for gaming). Where are you getting the drivers for your Lenovo? Are you sure that it's a broadcomm wireless adapter? Copy pasting the device ID into google should result in results giving you the model number as well as possibly giving links to manufacturer's drivers.

I am quite sure it's a broadcomm. Both the online information page for my laptop and device manager say so. I've tried both the official Lenovo drivers and several versions from Broadcomm.
