Ok so first things first, i have not looked to hard to see if this topic has been started, so sorry if it is repetitive.

So here is the deal. I bought Corsair SP2500 Speakers and hooked em up and everything. Yay good so far. But when i turn them on, i immediately notice a hiss coming from both satellites. The hiss is noticeable at low/no volume, and louder when i turn the speakers up on the remote. There is also a quiet pop that comes whenever there is no sound playing, then sound starts. Almost like the speaker "Popping" into action.

I just want to know if this is a problem with the speakers? Or is it my Motherboard audio jacks that are causing this, because the port on the mobo is quite loose.

If it is the jacks, could you please recommend me a sub 100$ sound card to replace it?

  • 2 weeks later...

it's normal for this type of satellite (class D). i have it plug on a X-Fi Platinum HD sound card. reducing the ''hisss'' to very very quiet (almost inaudible). Some motherboard create this interference as well. this is why a sound card is the best option.
