Does anyone here have experience with using the refresh feature in Windows 8.1?

My only concern is needing a product key for 8.1. I purchased Windows 8, which I still have my product key for, but since 8.1 is a free upgrade I'm worried that it's going to prompt me for an 8.1 key. I've read some articles and it seems like that may be the case.

Has anyone else tried this?

8.1 is significantly better than 8.

I have 8.1 on my dell venue 8 pro :3

Also, 8.1 was released quite a while ago.

He means the refresh feature in Win 8.

Allows you to "refresh" windows, whilst retaining user data.

I've not used it, but I've seen people using/recommending its use in the Microsoft Surface subreddit, and Surfaces do not come with any Windows Product codes, so I think it would be safe to assume you wont need a key.

Though, I've not used it, so don't want to completely say that it wont.

CPU: 6700k GPU: Zotac RTX 2070 S RAM: 16GB 3200MHz  SSD: 2x1TB M.2  Case: DAN Case A4

Ah.

I'd guess that it would be safe as it is provided in windows, and microsoft should say if it needs an 8.1 key on their website.
