Windows error - 0xc000007b

Greetings, 

 

I just installed Windows over my old Linux partition, and I tried starting a game called Hearts of Iron 3. Unfortunately, I get the error code in the title.

 

I have tried reinstalling the latest .NET framework. I have tried reinstalling the game, I have even done a complete reinstall of Windows 7 to no avail.

 

Does anyone have any ideas about what could be going wrong?

This sounds like a directX error. Make sure it's up to date.
