Programs crashing after upgrading cpu

i have upgraded from a 2550k to a 3770k. i've updated to the latest bios and now all my programs keep crashing :(

Rig Specs:

AMD Threadripper 5990WX@4.8Ghz

Asus Zenith III Extreme

Asrock OC Formula 7970XTX Quadfire

G.Skill Ripheartout X OC 7000Mhz C28 DDR5 4X16GB

reinstall the Intel Chipset drivers.

i've just tried that and stuff is still crashing. :( i have tried re installing chrome and that didn't work either

Is your motherboard compatible with your new CPU? Check the manufactures website / chipset support.

yes. its an msi z77 mpower with a 3770k

You could try using a older version of your BIOS and see if the problem persists. 

Could also try reseting bios to defualt settings or to a predefined profile

i was using an older bios, but it was optimised for sandybridge rather than ivybridge so it wasn't that stable.
