PC freezes

Go to solution Solved by CalculuS,

Ehm? I had this issue. Try setting up a crossfire profile in CCC and trying with AFR-Friendly and 1x1 at the bottom of the settings.

Same thing happened here for me with my dual 6850's.

Newest driver update ruined crossfire for people who don't use profiles.

Hello All, I recent upgraded my pc and running 3 way crossfire. I installed windows 8.1 x64 on 2x1TB raptors i had. I formatted them and did a new install. Everything seemed to be working fine. But when I open a game the pc just freezes/crushes. I don't understand why. Could someone please help.

These are the specs of the PC.

OS: Windows 8.1 x64

Processor: FX-8350 @ 5.5GHz OC

Cooler: Corsair H105 Push/pull config

RAM: Corsair Dominator 32Gb (1866)

Video Card: 3xXFX HD 7970

HDD: 2x1TB Raptors Raid0, 4TB for storage

The 5.5GHz OC probably has something to do with that. Lower the OC or launch AIDA64 and start stress testing. If it fails the stress test then it's your OC.

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861
