Budget & Location

Around 1500 dollars and I live in Canada. All products have to be from NCIX as they will be building the PC for me.

Aim

1080p gaming for AAA titles at 60+ fps all the time.

Monitors and Peripherals

Already have a 1080p monitor and proper gaming peripherals.

Why are you upgrading?

I have a really shitty laptop (gt 640m) and I can't fulfill my needs for gaming.

This is the build I was thinking of going with. Is this build fine? Is the gtx 970 overkill for 1080p gaming? I will be getting this computer early December and if the gtx 960 is out by then, I think I will go for that instead of a 970. Does anyone know or even have an idea when the gtx 960 will be released?

Hey CallMeCrimes and welcome to Linus Tech Tips forum :)

All the parts seem compatible and the build looks very optimized. I'd say it's ready for pulling the trigger.
Only thing I would change is the PSU. After OCing, your build would probably consume around 400W. The one that you have chosen is sufficient enough, but I would go with a higher-certified (gold maybe) 500W one (unless you plan on adding more GPUs).

If this helped you, like and choose it as best answer - you might help someone else with the same issue. ^_^
